Just 9 miles from Edinburgh City Centre, The Mansion House at Kirkhill is a Grade B listed, 18th Century mansion house. A stunning house bursting with character and period features, Kirkhill was originally built as a family home when Henry Dundas established it as a dower house to the Arniston Estate in the 1700s. The house was converted into a hotel in the 1970s before being transformed in 2013 into the boutique accommodation and events venue it is today. The Mansion House at Kirkhill can host any number from 8 up to 34 guests. Our individually decorated bedrooms can be adapted as king, double, twin and bunk bed rooms depending on your particular requirements. Whether you need a honeymoon suite, a family room or a single room, we can make it work beautifully. There’s no end to the entertainment possibilities at Kirkhill. The house’s main reception room, the Grand Hall, is where the magic happens. Events, dinners, weddings and parties, all against the stunning backdrop of the Pentland Hills. A true country retreat within easy reach of Edinburgh, the Kirkhill Estate has over 3000 established trees. With the North Esk River running around half of the house’s boundary, there are some beautiful walks in and around the grounds. You also have a good chance of spotting some local wildlife. From deer to bats, trout, rabbits, water voles, wood peckers and numerous song birds, it is the perfect setting for a country event near the city. For those who prefer indoor entertainment, the house even has its own Games Room complete with pool table, darts board, board games and books. Sound perfect? We haven’t even mentioned the grand piano room or the outdoor hot tub yet.
